Consumer Choice in Insurance
Lately, with a presidential debate beginning, there has been lots of talk about a universal payer system where the government pays for critical medical care for all citizens. We at long term care Insurance tree believe that this is a slippery slope. Without going into the politics of it, our point is that in countries that do have socialized medicine, something like over 90% of citizens stil carry private insurance, for one reason or another. By having a backup, they are not so reliant on the government. Hillary Clintons insurance plan as it deals with long term care is a solution that we believe helps keep the private market in shape without harming care. We still think it’s too expensive, but it is a step in the right direction.
